Summer Walleye

DSC00097

I don’t know why some guys sit in the cabin when the lake is calm and the sun is high. In fact many don’t even consider a summer trip because there is misconception that walleye don’t bite in the summer.

How wrong can you be.  Our waters stay cold the the walleye like to eat.  What more can I say.

Book your Ignace Outposts trip for 2010 soon.  July and August are great months!

More Seseganaga Lake fishing reports

Phil and Andy sent the following note.

“We caught several 25” walleyes this year.  Not extreme monsters but always a nice tussle on the end of your line.”

Having the odd large northern latch on to your line makes a good fight too.  I think their smiles say it all.  They spent a week on Seseganaga Lake in June.

Seseganaga Trout Fishing report

Atlanta is a long way from Seseganaga Lake but as Phil reports from his annual trip, these lakers are worth the travel.

“Here is the second Laker I caught.  It is a twin of the first…about a half inch difference.  ~ 33” each.  I caught them both inside of 10 minutes of each other on our last day on the lake.  Fish on steroids!  Wow what a fight.  I was shaking like a leaf after these two guys were in the boat.  The water was very high this year in June but our party still managed to catch lots of fish and among them we boated a very large northern 40s, several very nice 25” walleye and these two 33” Lakers.   Another great trip. Thanks.”   Phil

Brad and Karen: Here is the 29 inch walleye I caught on Metionga Lake. Thanks so much for another wonderful vacation!

Bob Donnelly

Bob and his crew have made yearly trips to Ignace Outposts since the late 80’s. They have fished most of our lakes and seen our business develop since our earliest years in Ignace. They do keep coming back for more. 2010 is already set up for these guys.

It is not too early to pin your dates down for next summer. Send us an email or give us a call (807-934-2273).

See you next summer!

Not a bad double header

Joey, our dock hand this summer, found a few moments to fish with his wife this past week. Without revealing his “super secret spot” (locals are like that), here is a glimpse of a double header they caught. Our pilot Rob took the picture and verifies the awesome fish.

All I can say is that Ignace is the place to fish.

Joey and Rob

Our pilot Rob and dock hand Joey seem to excel in research and development of our product.  They try to fish as much as  they can and I can’t blame them.

Joey

It is almost so much fun to work here that maybe I don’t really have to pay them…  just kidding guys.

If you have a chance while loading the plane for your trip to talk to Joey about fishing, I know he can talk you ear off – and most of it is true!

New Trueisms

I would like to thank one of our guests and readers for sending me these new trueisms of modern life.

Enjoy!

1. Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright, until you hear them speak.

2. A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

3. He, who laughs last, thinks slowest.

4. A day without sunshine is like ... night.

5. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day long drinking beer.

6. It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world from end-to-end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them.

7. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool

8. The new 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% chance you'll get it wrong.

9. If the shoe fits, get another one just like it.

10.The Ignace Ontario area has some of the finest fishing in Canada. If you want a fly in trip which will give memories that will last a life time, Ignace Outposts will provide that trip.

To catch trophies as well as great quantity, or to just relax and enjoy nature give Brad or Karen at Ignace Outposts a call at 807-934-2273. Visit our site at www.ignaceoutposts.com
