One more little upgrade to keep ahead of the pack.
It’s hard to believe this is an outpost camp 100 miles from Ignace.
The counter top at Flindt Lake had a swell near the taps from the sink being improperly installed. We’ve had a little time to do some “camp maintenance” and have installed a new counter top. Now the a sink and counter function well and look great too.
Now lets see how long it takes before someone puts a hot pan from the stove onto the counter top and leaves a mark.
Dave works in an office all day in real life. When away from the office, Dave finds relaxation hauling in lunker Northern Pike. Dave and the guys, mostly family, spent a week at Flindt Lake earlier this month and now the fish stories are flowing in.
There is no need to enhance the story when pictures like this are the proof.
See you next year Dave. Am I ever glad there is no beer in this picture.
“Brad and Karen, just wanted to let you know that of the 3 trips I have been on this was the best on Flindt Lake.
I never was a big fisherman, but since I was talked into going with the group on your fly in's, I am hooked.
The 38 inch northern I caught on Wed 6/1, really has me hooked now. The group always called me the rookie but after this catch, they are looking for a new rookie.
Thanks again for the great time, the friendly service, and of course the FISH.”

Matt is not cold but is instead maintaining his fingers. As a cello player this is almost as much a priority as catching fish… thus the gloves.
Matt and his Dad joined a few others from Indiana on Flindt Lake in late July. Walleye and northern pike were the order of the day.
“Once again I can not express in words what a great time we had and how great of an operation you run. Makes one feel like we are part of the family when we come up for a visit!! Fishing being as great as it is does not hurt either. Just wanted to share some of the pictures. The Walleye(23") was caught not 50 yds from the cabin and released. Thanks again for the wonderful "Father and Son Vacation."

Eric and his son Connor spent a week on Flindt Lake in early August. I have mentioned many times before, don’t miss the chance to take your son (or daughter) fishing. Ten, 15 or 20 years down the road, these are the memories that will mean something. You will not even think about that extra day you worked nor the few dollars it cost. Ignace Outposts is the premier Canadian destination for this type of trip. Now is a great time to start thinking about 2010.
On Thurs evening Karen and I managed to escape to Flindt Lake with my cousin Bill and his wife Dawn from Las Vegas. Bill and Dawn were in the area to visit Bill’s dad and to attend Bill Sr.’s 80th birthday party.
Of course, a walleye fish fry was in order and in short order a few walleye were made to order in the frying pan.
Getting a camp ready for guests is always a pleasure when a few extra minutes are available for product development.
Brad/Karen,
Had a great week with the Snapp group again this year...wanted to include a photo of the 44 inch northern pike I snagged on my ultra light spinning reel with 6 pound test line...great fight up on Flindt!!!! Thanks again for some great fishing.

Dave returned from Flindt Lake on Friday and sent this photo and note as soon as he got home. It is fish like this that makes an Ignace Outposts vacation so memorable. Besides the food and the company you keep, good fishing makes the trip.
OK so this was photo shopped a little. The message remains however. Bears are not usually a problem around our camps but if they are fed, they come back. When they come back they begin to be a problem.
Keeping garbage bagged and in the shed, keeping used fish oil in a sealed container inside the cabin, not leaving fish remains or other food outside the cabin are good first steps to a bear free week.
In case you were looking for the photo shopping in the photo, the bare (naked) guy in the window was removed.
We haven’t had much for summer weather yet and we are already half way through July. Temps remain below normal and rain gear sales are likely high at the sports stores.
The walleye don’t mind a little water. It seems to be their preferred environment. We however have to dress for the weather. Fishing reports remain great on all lakes for the guys who venture out into the rain and wind.
Paul moved to Canada from Australia and finds a little R&R on Flindt Lake is like nothing at home.
Even during the “rainy season” which incidentally has been most of this summer, the walleye like to entertain. G’day mate! Cricky, another too big for the barby.
Flindt Lake cabin in it’s pre 1996 days.
In years gone by, a cabin was just a roof over your head. One room, bunks along the wall, mice for room mates, stuffy, mosquitoes travelling through the wall at will, and a hot plate for cooking was the order of the day.
Flindt lake was one of those lakes where the fishing was so good, you could easily overlook the rustic or should I say primitive accommodations. During the 90’s we began a program of rebuilding and updating all our facilities. Now not only is the fishing so much better because of our catch and consume program, the cabins are a joy to be in.
Flindt Lake cabin now.

Give us a call or drop an email. We’d be glad to help you set up a vacation of a lifetime. Be forewarned however, Ignace Outpost vacations can be habit forming.

Hey Brad and Karen,
I just wanted to send you a quick note along with a few pictures from one of my recent trips. After traveling across Canada for eight years now and after taping four shows with you, I can safely say (without BS-ing anyone!) that you run a first rate outpost vacation.
As you know, this past spring we taped a show at your Flindt Lake outpost and we should have that episode edited soon. I caught two nice walleyes over 24 inches and a pile of 17 – 20 inchers. My buddy caught two really good northerns; one was 38 inches and the other 37. Oh… and, uh, um… good thing for your prop guards… I found out that they work very, very well.
One other thing… I just finished writing my book, “The Trip of a Lifetime.” It’s a 206 page book about hunting and fishing trips in Canada. The last chapter is called “RD’s Top Ten Destinations” and I included a section on your operation. Top ten isn’t too bad when you consider I’ve been to over 175 places now!
Thanks again and stay RUGGED!

Ever wondered about taking a FALL trip to go fishing?
Wes Peters and his group tried Flindt Lake just before our hunters went in. Here is a little note and testimonial.
Brad, we had a great time! Good accommodations, good fishing-likely about 400 fish in total for the 5 of us in 3 days-actually picked up about 25 between 9 and 10am on Saturday morning just around the little island in front of the cottage while we were waiting for Randy.
Nothing huge in the pickerel department-my 75 year old father in law, Ted Wright caught a 5 pounder (whatever that translates into in inches). Caught it in the large eastern Bay in the North end of Flindt after the 2 channels. My friend and I named it “Mayhem Bay” as we seemed to have snagged the same fish-lines tangled, etc..
Good success in Flett Lake-we even caught a blue pickerel and a blue Northern-they won the prettiest fish award.
Regards,
WES
Next season plan a Canadian fall fishing trip with us at Ignace Outposts. You might be pleasantly surprised.
